Resources for farmers / gardeners
Providers of seeds and other supplies
- Scythe Supply
This small Maine company offers high-quality, relatively lightweight
European-style scythes that are custom-built to fit the user.
We’ve heard good things about the company’s scythes from several
women, and Scythe Supply’s Carol Bryan tells us that almost
30% of their sales are currently to women.
- Sustainable Seed Company
This very cool California company offers heirloom seeds – many
certified organic and all U.S.-grown – and was begun by “a new
generation of farmers who understand that if there is to be
a bright future for humanity we need to start farming and living
sustainably today. ”
- Southern Exposure Seed Exchange
Provider of heirloom seed varieties adapted to the Mid-Atlantic

the late-blight catastrophe of summer, 2009 better than any
other in our gardens!

many raised on High Mowing’s own 40-acre farm
